Ali Marcus: News

New Album in Spring 2012! - November 30, 2011

I can't tell you much about it yet, but songs are being recorded and we'll be done in the spring! "Like" my music page on Facebook - it's called "Ali Marcus On Tour" - and I'll be previewing tracks on there from time to time. Happy Holidays!

Meanwhile, this website will be under construction while we redesign for the new release. But you should be able to find everything pretty easily.

Also - I'll be performing in a special show in Seattle on 1/12/12 @ the Columbia City Theater - one of Seattle's precious gems. Check out the details here: www.columbiacitytheater.com

Heading into Fall, Falling into Winter - September 14, 2011

Well this was an incredibly long and fruitful touring season. I am still just now beginning to catch my breath! Thank you to everyone who came out to the zillions of shows this spring and summer, and who bought CDs, and signed up on the mail list, and told their friends and family about it. I am really looking forward to next summer trying to top this one!

On tap for the Fall and Winter: I'll be working on a new album! Looks like a Spring 2012 release is in order to jumpstart the summer touring! Meanwhile, I'll be doing a handful of shows in the Pacific Northwest, such as performing at the TRIPLE DOOR WITH JOLIE HOLLAND on 9/28! And more to come. So stay tuned, get on that mailing list in the upper right hand corner of my site, friend me on Facebook - "Ali Marcus On Tour" - with the code "free stuff from alimarcus.com" and I'll get you some free stuff!

Thanks and Hugs all around,
Ali

"Minnesota" video - an anti-war protest song. - August 3, 2008

Dear Listeners:

I wrote a song. Surprise, right? Well this is an anti-war song. It's a protest song. It's a campaigning song for Barack Obama. It's a folk song.

I think it's a little dark but ultimately uplifiting. Like America. Happy 4th!

To be clear, "that's the change we need, Minnesota" was the "chorus" of Obama's speech in Minnesota the night he won the nomination.

Thanks to www.yomamaforobama.com for much of the imagery.

Please share this link with everyone!!

The Mostly Piano EP is in production! - April 15, 2008

I have to say, I am real proud of this little record. If you can make it to the [free!] show on 4/26 at the Station in Seattle, then you can get your hands on a copy. I've only made 50 CDs to sell. Beautiful artwork by Jane Marshall and Kristy Cameron. Limited edition releases are fun! so are pianos!

My band the Sweetheart Army will be performing that night as well. It will be kind of in-the-round, spontaneous, awesome. Be there!
